SRWS Safe Arrival & Dismissal

The safety of all of our students is paramount.  Please review the following procedures to ensure Safe Arrival and Dismissal.  We are asking all parents and family members who use our designated parking to proceed with caution and care.

Before School Day Procedures

  • Supervision begins at 8:45 am at this time students can be dropped off to the back pavement area (Grades 1-8) and Kindergarten area (gated area)
  • If you are escorting your child to the back pavement, you must park your vehicle in the designated parking spots, and walk your child to their respective yard.
  • Due to the safety of the students, please ensure that you do not loiter on the paved areas, as staff supervisors must have a clear sight line.
  • The Drop & Go is to facilitate a smooth drop off of students. There is NO PARKING permitted.
  • Please do not send students before 8:45 am  as there is NO adult supervision

End of School Day Procedures

    • Dismissal is promptly at 3:30pm
  • Your classroom teacher(s) should be aware of your child’s after-school plan (bus student, parent pick-up, walk home, etc.)
  • If you are picking up your child, please proceed directly to the back of the school,  to meet your child at their exit entrance on the pavement area.  Younger children (JK – Grade 3) must be met by a parent.

Busing Responsibilities

  • The Bus loop is closed from 8:35 am -9:05 am, and 3:20pm -3:50pm.   There is NO PARKING available at this time.  You may park in the designated area.
  • Parents are to ensure their children arrive at bus stops at least five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. During the first week of September, arrival at the bus stop ten (10) minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time is advised;
  • To help ensure student safety, it is recommended  students in Grades JK – 3 are met at their bus stop by a parent/guardian, and age appropriate arrangements made for all other grades;
  • Parents are responsible to make alternate arrangements for their children if they are unable to meet them at a bus stop.
  • Parents should familiarize themselves with the STSYR School Bus Cancellation Notice and Late Bus Notice, as communicated by schools and also available at www.schoolbuscity.com;
  • Parents are reminded to refer to the Late Bus Report on the Student Transportation Services website at www.schoolbuscity.com prior to leaving for the Bus Stop in the morning and afternoon.

Communications Between School & Home

  • To ensure a safe environment for all students, we ask that parents/guardians review their emergency contact information.  Please ensure that the school office has the most up to date and current methods of contact (cell phone, work phone, emergency contact information) as it is imperative that the school be able to reach someone when necessary.
  • An Emergency and Consent Forms package and Medical Conditions Forms will be sent home with your child the week of September 2nd, 2025.
